The Pictures

Well after a lot of huffing and puffing I managed to pull out a couple of pics for First Nation & other bullies. It took me hours, I never realised I had so many photos and only really got through half the box. It amazing how many memories they evoke. Family and friends no longer with us, good times and humdrum times, whatever happened to so-and-so did they just fall off the edge of the world? all just captured on that print but lost forever in march of time.

Anyway, on with the photos - not the best, I'm sure I've got some better ones tucked away.

The first one is of Miles when we were in Mykonos (? never sure of the spelling) a beautiful Greek island, also v. gay, not sure why.

And the second pic of Miles again, looking suspiciously like Phil Mitchell from EastEnders. It looks like he's posing next to a statue of a Greek God, no wait . . . could it be? Do you see the way the sea crashes right up to the buildings? sometimes you'd bee eating at one of those chi-chi restaurants on the front and a wave would come thundering in and soak the diners - great fun, you learn by experience to sit nearer the back. And see the windmills at the back there, the island is famous for them and they appear on all the tourist tat and postcards of Mykonos.

Well, that's it. While searching for these I also found some pics which might interest MJ.

MJ would you like to see pics of me when I was on CORONATION STREET?

Harvest Festival

Thought I'd post a few pics of the garden. The weather has been hot and everything is doing well, apart from the runner beans - I've only got 1 so far. Quite proud of the cherry toms, haven't tried one yet. The courgettes are ok, hopefully get a few more (reminds me of someone).
The hibiscus is lovely, I keep it indoors during the winter but its really enjoying the sunshine outside, beautiful colour.

On the right we have a Japanese Acer, given to me by Manny "Bad Bwoy" Bataan, which is thriving in the sunny climate. Not sure how long the heatwave is going to continue, on the news farmers are harvesting corn - unheard of at this time of year, we really do need some rain. Thunderstorms are on the way, aparently. Will post more when the heat stops sapping my energy, Adios!

The Tempest

Hello! it was off the Christchurch Priory on Thursday night to see a performance of "The Tempest" written by someone called William Shakespeare and being performed by the Bournemouth Shakespeare Players, in the garden of the Priory. We have culture up to our arseholes down here on the South Coast of England.

I went with the lovely Mitch and his long suffering boyfriend Paul (Bob), and met up with Jim and Mickey (who did the music, see blogroll for his site). Smoothered myself with insect repellent and wore my socks under my Birkenstocks + plus a jumper in my bag for when it turned cool later on - you can tell I'm a veteran of these things can't you.

Well it was an ambitious play for the Players to take on, The Tempest is hardly a barrell of laughs at the best of times. It started with a long monologue by Prospero, the actor kept forgetting his lines and had to be prompted quite often. I thought we were in for a loooong night, then some fox playing Ferdinand appeared on stage. Mitch commented "Things are looking up", and all the poofs in the front row hanging off his every word. Shallow? moi? A couple of friends-of-friends were also in the play (Gary & Danny), they were excellent & stole the show. Mind you, not hard really, what with Prospero forgetting his lines, and some guy with learning disabilities who you just couldn't understand. But a good evening, the weather held, Bravo.

What really thru me was I bumped into Miles, an old boyfriend from the late 90s. Havent seen him for years. We had quite an intense relationship, and I did have a few butterflies in the stomach seeing him, even after all these years. Y'know met his parents, wearing his shirts, had one of the best holidays in my life with him in Mykonos (? spelling). Jeezus, we even looked at places to buy together. Then as quickly as it started it ended, just a few misunderstandings and stupid pride. Hey ho, but he still has a way of looking at me which makes me blush. And he has lost weight, Bastard. Got a funny feeling our paths will cross again soon.

Oriental week continued

Well continuing on our Oriental week theme we have a little bevy of beauties here from the Sunshine Starfish dating agency. I contacted them and asked them to send me a selection of "mail order" boyfriends. A mixed bag, but its been a while - poor Trey still stuck in Benin (Im refusing to pay the ransom on principle), plus the house really needs decorating and I can't be arsed to do it myself. Im not too choosy but they were taking the piss with some of these. I'll let you decide for me.

1. His name is Suk ma Dik, 21, hobbies include knitting and making model aeroplanes.

2. His name is Puppy dun Crap, 22. Likes water sports, S&M, tit torture and suduko.

3. Kim, 19. Looking for a nice western man to take care of him, 5 bedroom house a must?

4. Charlee Haw Tree, 16. Loves old films and cooking.

5. Fuc Yu, 19. A bit mean and moody this one, a strong favourite.

6. Lik me, 18. Hmm . . . looking for love apparently, strike him off the list.

7. Dy Son, somewhere between 35 and death. Been on the books of the Agency for a few years now. Very versatile, all offers considered. Cleans like a devil but looks a little desperate to me.

Oriental week

Well it's "oriental week" here at Frobishers Fun Pages. Inspired by my neighbour, Paul, who has just erected a large shed in his garden to accommodate his boyfriends (Oat?) family when they visit from Thailand. I will be keep a close eye on developments (from my bathroom window with binoculars) and will keep you posted. Any sniff of Thai weed and I will be over like a shot and threaten them with Immigration if they don't hand it over - it's my duty as a responsible citizen.

A postcard from Swanage

Hello from sunny Swanage! I've got a few days off work and my good friend Keith staying so it was off to Swanage on Friday. We've been having some great weather in the UK recently and I've been making the most of it. On the drive over we were almost killed by a 4x4 (suv). I thought that the driver had just pulled out to overtake but he just kept coming straight at me. I swerved off the road and on to the verge, the car behind also did the same to avoid a collision. It was all over in seconds & no one was hurt. Asshole. I didn't even get the chance to take his number.

Well Swanage is a lovely place - manicured lawns and tidy planting, the streets are clean and it still has that old "seaside" feel with shops selling crab lines, bucket and spades, clotted cream ice-creams (yes, I had one). Went to visit Peter, the miserable sod didn't even m
ake us a cup of tea, well I suppose he was working.

We visited Swanage Railway which has steam trains which travel a 6 mile stretch between Swanage and Norden via the Isle of Purbeck and Corfe Castle. One day I will go on the train it looks fun. Ambled around the town and seafront for the rest of the afternoon, then home for fish & chips and Coronation Street. Fab.

An e-mail I received the other day

THREE CHEERS FOR AUSTRALIA

I wish the leaders of our country, Canada, would take a stand like Australia.....

Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia, as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks.

A day after a group of mainstream Muslim leaders pledged loyalty to Australia at a special meeting with Prime Minister John Howard, he and his ministers made it clear that extremists would face a crackdown.

Treasurer Peter Costello, seen as heir apparent to Howard, hinted that some radical clerics could be asked to leave the country if they did not accept that Australia was a secular state and its laws were made by parliament.

"If those are not your values, if you want a country which has Sharia law or a theocratic state, then Australia is not for you," he said on national television.

"I'd be saying to clerics who are teaching that there are two laws governing people in Australia, one the Australian law and another the Islamic law, that is false. If you can't agree with parliamentary law, independent courts, democracy, and would prefer Sharia law and have the opportunity to go to another country, which practices it, perhaps, then, that's a better option," Costello said.

Asked whether he meant radical clerics would be forced to leave, he said those with dual citizenship could possibly be asked to move to the other country.

Education Minister Brendan Nelson later told reporters that Muslims who did not want to accept local values should "clear off".

"Basically, people who don't want to be Australians, and they don't want to live by Australian values and understand them, well then they can basically clear off," he said. Separately, Howard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques.

USA and Canada..... ARE YOU LISTENING?

Quote:

IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It ! I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians.

However, the dust from the attacks had barely settled when the "politically correct" crowd began complaining about the possibility that our patriotism was offending others. I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to Australia.

However, there are a few things that those who have recently come to our country, and apparently some born here, need to understand.

This idea of Australia being a multicultural community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity. As Australians, we have our own culture, our own society, our own language and our own lifestyle.

This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom. We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, then learn the language!

Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push but a fact because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, Because God is part of our culture.

We will accept your beliefs and will not question why, all we ask is that you accept ours and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us.

If the Southern Cross offends you, or you don't like "A Fair Go", then you should seriously consider a move to another part of this planet.

We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change, and we really don't care how you did things where you came from. By all means keep your culture but do not force it on others.

This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this, but once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian/Canadian/US/British et al freedom, "THE RIGHT TO LEAVE."

If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted.

Pretty easy really, when you think about it. I figure if we all keep passing this to our friends (and enemies) it will also, sooner or later get back to the complainers, lets all try, please.

PLEASE PASS THIS ON TO EVERYONE, PERHAPS WE CAN CREATE A GROUND SWELL AND SEND OUR POLITICIANS THE MESSAGE THAT THE VAST MAJORITY OF US BELIEVE AS THE AUSSIES DO.........

Well, what do you think? at first I thought it was a bit strong. But then again the Australians are a straight talking bunch, and why not be honest. I consider myself lucky to live in a liberal, democratic country, and want to keep it that way. This week a poll conducted by The Times revealed that over 5% of Muslims polled considered the London bombers "martyrs" and had "just cause". THEY BLEW UP INNOCENT PEOPLE!!! Men, women & children of all ages, faiths and colour.

I am sick of people saying we must "engage" with the Muslims and listen to their grievances. Really? don't hear the Chinese/Sikhs/Buddists/Christians, etc. whining on about how hard done they are. It really is that simple - don't like it then get out. I'll even pack for you.

After all how many Christian churches are there in Saudi Arabia?

Fight Club: Evolutionists vs Creationists

This is a grudge match to end them all. Evolutionists versus Creationists. Evolutionists believe that life on Earth has taken many forms. Those that surive continue to evolve. Creationism is the belief that the Earth was created by a supreme being as described in the Book of Genesis or the Koran.

Scientists have recently called for "evidence based" teaching of the origins of life in schools and colleges. They claim that children in faith-based schools are not being taught evolution in favour of creationism which says that all forms of life have always existed in their present form, and that the world was formed 8,000 years ago opposed to 4,600 million years ago, as scientists believe.

Well, I know who I believe. How can Creationists explain fossils, dinosaurs, etc.? Science can't tell us everything but it can tell us a lot. A worrying statistic is that up to 100 million Americans believe in Bible is the true explanation of the origin of the planet and its species. Don't even ask about the Muslims. Which takes us to the question of the day:-

Did God create Man, or did Man create God?

A hundred fighting points and eternal damnation for the correct answer.

Guess who?

Can you guess who this is?
